Service Description
One of the most effective guards in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu begins with two simple grips: the collar and the sleeve. But collar-sleeve guard is much more than holding your opponent. It is a complete system for controlling distance, breaking posture and creating reactions that lead to sweeps, submissions and transitions into other guards. Professor Rad's approach has been shaped by more than 20 years of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, training in Brazil, competing internationally, and spending two months training daily at Art of Jiu-Jitsu in California, the academy created by Rafa and Gui Mendes. Alongside Jiu-Jitsu, Professor Rad has trained Capoeira for 24 years. That experience has given him a different understanding of movement, timing, balance and using angles to control an opponent. In this two-hour seminar, you will explore: * Correct collar-sleeve grips and positioning * Distance and posture control * Creating angles and reactions * Sweeps and submission combinations * Transitions to De La Riva and other guards * Building a connected, dependable guard system The seminar will give beginners a strong foundation while helping experienced practitioners add more detail and connection to their existing guard game.
